Tjukayirla Roadhouse
Tjukayirla Roadhouse is located within the Shire of Laverton on the Great Central Road (Outback Way) in the Great Victoria Desert. It is located 305kms from Laverton and 245kms from Warburton. The Tjukayirla Roadhouse was established and owned by the Blackstone Community. The roadhouse takes it’s name from the Tjukayirla Rockholes which are situated as the southwest end of the camp ground adjacent to the Paine and Barclay Surveyor marker which was placed by the surveyors in early 1930’s during the original survey route to Warburton. The desert breakaways and wildflowers are worth a look. At times dingos, emus, kangaroos and camels as well as a large variety of birds can be seen around the roadhouse.
